    Middle Diff Lock

Hi, new member on for first time. I have a disco 1. But my brother just bought a disco 2 auto. He came to grief up the snow and is blaming the traction control system. Can somebody advise on how the middle diff can be manually locked so that it looks like part of the vehicle as it should?

Use the search function. Look for CDL and you should find loads of information about it.

As Big John said, do a search. What year is your brothers D2? This will make a big difference to how much work is involved as the early (1999-2000) D2 has the CDL and spigot but no linkage to the cab, then 2001-2003 had nothing, then 2003-2005 had the CDL fitted and working all the way to the cab.

if your brothers is the first category, then you have a few options to get a CDL intalled fairly easily.

    Best of luck.

I fitted an AMV type CDL to my 1999 D2, very happy, but before that I would often lock it in with a 10mm open ended spanner from underneath.

Shame LR took it out IMHO, good luck

The case without the spiggot is not a lost cause just more mucking around...you need a Disco 1 output housing and internals for the housing and a cable. I did that...works like a bought one.

    Cheers
