If a 2002 model TD5 engine is fitted to a 2000 model Discovery 2 TD5, will the ECU also have to be changed?
I think the 2002 may have a flashable ECU whereas the 2000 model had to be "chipped', but then I have been wrong before!

Short answer, no.
If you use the 2000 original ECU you will have to programme the different injector codes from the 02 motor into the ecu.
If you use the 02 engine and ECU. regardless of it being flashable or not,
I think you will have to teach it to recognise the secuirty codes.
Either way a quick job with a Nanocom or similar.

Also worth double checking, cos I maybe wrong, is that the throttle fly wires are different... can't remember which way around it is but one works with 2 wires and the other 3.

Nanocom will allow you to select a two or 3 potentiomenter throttle.
