    Power Steering Suction hose Line

I've just experience my first disco leak.
Anyone know the part number or where I could buy a TD5 power steering suction hose line?
    Google is not helping me.
The thread in the good oil http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...e-failure.html
documents the cause but not the part numbers and rave just says 'suction (inlet) line'

I need to order one otherwise I'll just have drop in to pirtek and get some hose.

    Cheers

I'd try Graeme at British Car Components, 38 Baillie St North Melbourne. 9329 5766.

He's a top bloke and knows his stuff. His computer will spit out a part number and he should be able to get it. Prices are good too.

Thanks Urban Panzer, that's the one. At least it doesn't seem to difficult to replace.

edit Well I just got under the car for another look and its not the bloody hose it seems to be a gasket towards the front of the pump (well now I have spare hose on order from ebay) I dont particularly want to pull the pump out so i'll give the lucas stop leek a go.

Pump isn't too hard to take out once you have the fan off. I have recently had PAS problems and I ended up taking the thing out and re fitting it about 5 or so times haha. Which gasket are you talking about? the one that's apart of the main body or from around the drive bit?

My leak ended up being in the high pressure out line, looking at the thing it looked fine but it must have had a really small crack that only opened up under pressure (after all i think they are under something like 20,000psi, this figure could be wrong but I think it's what the powersteering shop bloke told me)

Hi mate, I recently had the exact same problem. Except i listened to the landrover service centre in the Goldy who told me, (after looking at it) that it was definately the High pressure hose leaking at the metal joint (smaller one of the 2 hoses coming out of bottle).
So after replacing them (full day job for an ammature like me)...still leaking!
So, i thought i stuffed it and replaced the wrong hoses. Then i replaced the fatter short hose (same one as in the picture posted)....Still leaking!!
In the end it was the gasket you are talking about leaking not the hoses at all!!!
Any how, sorry to rave on but i got all my parts from Land Rover Parts
They were quite cheap and very helpfull, organised a courier to the door and still heaps cheaper than the Landrover service centre.

Spent yesterday under the disco and confirmed that the gasket was gone.
So I went and bought a sheet of thin gasket paper and proceeded to remove the PAS pump. In the process I discovered that one of the AC compressor bolts was sheered off at the thread, the head was held in place with silicon. (That's my next job I need to source a bolt and a stud extraction kit)

Finally removed the PAS and found that I could not separate the unit completely with the tools I had. So I thought maybe I could slice the gasket I hope it would still seal. Luckily I removed the disintegrated gasket with out to much damage (it was plastic with silicon on both sides). I then used it as a template.

I knew the old hole punch I had would come in handy.

    Where I sliced it.

I coated both side of the newly made gasket with a liberal amount of #3 aviation gasket cement, Placed it in the PAS and took extra care to line up the split from then on it just a reversal of the procedure.

Well took the disco for a 200km drive today and it seems to be fine no leaks. Oh I refilled the pas with nulon fully synthetic ATF, the pumps never been quieter I may even put it the ACE system.
