Km expectation from ZF and LT230

Still pursuing the VIBES covered in http://www.aulro.com/afvb/discovery-...-knocking.html I find that in most of the threads I read about the subject people have rattles from their handbrake. This noice is a MAIN contributor for noise and vibes as heared and felt inside the car. The vibration damper at the rear of the T-box is their for a reason I guess, but when I have the Disco in Neutral and have someone rev the Td5 to the vibespot the rear propshaft vibrates like crazy. I read threads were people removed the rear propshaft and commented "it was the most silence drive ever".

With me, many others suffer from a leaking rear output seal. Replaced mine 3 times - using even the correct LR tool - keeps leaking.

I am starting to think that the rear output bearing might be shot, and will replace the bearing and output shaft. I would like to replace the input gear with bearings as well. My Disco is approaching 200000 Km. Seams feasible those bearings need replacement, and might contribute to the RESULTING vibes of the TD5 harmonic. Anyone: what is a genuine expectation how long the ZF and LT230 will last, taken that it is well maintained through its working life?

    Cheers, Martin

How long is a piece of string?

One of my RRC's had 340k km's on the clock and ran a dream.
Had tranny serviced and previous owner looked after it also so who knows, I do not see a problem with 4-5ook km's.

Stay on top of servicing and you be fine.
