    Fitting UHF

Hi everyone. Just bought an Icom 400 UHF and have figured that I can fit it in the map pocket above the visor on the drivers side (it fits with a little distortion to the plastic, but not much).
I want to run the aerial and power up the LHS A pillar and across. My question is, how hard is it to remove the plastic covering on the pillar, and how do I do it.
Looking forward to your input as usual.

Just get a hold of it and give it a pull. Will have to pull fairly hard. There is 3 metal clips that squeeze through slots in the metal. They push on to the back of the trim. Once it's off you will have to unplug the tweeter.

if you really need pics i will, its the same for d1 and d2..

just a screwdriver on the door side of the plastic cover and a slight lever.. the clips are about half way down, and one 5cm in either edge..

everytime i've popped it off its been very easy.. just down lever are the speaker split (to avoid breaking a wire)

No no no ... pic's of the Icom 400 installation in the overhead map pockets !! ...

I've already pulled the pillar trims to uninstall my incar phone kit ... there isn't enough real estate on the dash for an Icom 400 .... but overhead !!!. I never thought of there !

Yup, give it a tug, and it will come off.

Behind is a stack of expanded foam that is for sound-proofing. I have removed this from mine so that I can run a stack of cables there.

Getting the cover off is easy.

Getting the wires up the pillar is easy
Getting the wires across from the pillar into the roof cavity is a bugger.

I put a remote head up in the center console, and spent way too long getting the wires from the pillar into the roof cavity. I expected that to be easy, but it took the longest.
