Thread: Perth Alternator repair

Get a price for a brand new one.Not half as bad as you may imagine,they include the vacuum pump.There are several suppliers Rovercraft,Karcraft and some Ebay based dealers.

It would pay to also have a look for oil leaks above the alternator, thats what killed mine, I have also been told that the Nippon Denso one from a toyota Surf are identical but have not got around to checking this out.

I was in a hurry to get mine fixed and took it to a Land rover auto elec as we were going away 2 days later for Xmas Hol's, wish I had done the job myself the repair including a new alternator came to $1,400.00.

I could have done it for around $500.00 using the rave cd and E-Bay.
