    D2 battery warning light

Hi all, the battery warning light on the dash in our 2000 TD5 auto disco2 (220000km) recently has started coming on and off despite nanocom and my multimeter showing 13.8 plus volts, even 14 volts at times with light on (multimeter across battery terminals at idle while light showing on dash). Anyone come across this before? Could be a grounding issue I wonder?

Check the drive belt, tensioner,AC compressor etc.Could well a bearing starting to let go and stalling/slipping the belt.
Check the battery terminals.I had to replace mine as the posative couldnt be tightened correctly.
Check the alternator from underneath with a torch,is there oil coming out the back of it??? Mine had a seal fail in the vacuum pump leaking oil thru the alternator,it will fail if its getting oil in it.
I will shift this thread to Technical Chatter in a day or so once you get to see this reply. Its the correct area and will get better exposure.
    GOODLUCK.
