Still unable to lock seats down with plastic cover
Hi All,
I hope you are well :-)
Well - a bit of an update... and hopefully some folk may have some other suggestions ??
We followed fatmans suggestion as per the link that was posted, however... that didn't solve the problem.
The problem seems to be with the plastic cover that is screwed into the cargo floor that the seats lock into as apposed to the locking mechanism - I think?!.
If we don't have the plastic cover screwed into the floor, then the seats lock into position fine so nothing wrong with allignment.
If we put in the plastic cover then the seats locking pin seems to be about 5mm short of engaging the metal bar to lock down. (This is still after having lubricated the locking mechanisms as per fatmans doc link)...
Falling short of shaving about 5mm of the underside cover off so it sits lower.... has anyone got any other suggestions before we go down that path?
Appreciate the help...
Thanks Lp
Finally - two locked seats!
Ok - another update.... Hubby has finished putting the left seat in and it has locked down without a problem?!?!? - just the problem w/ the RHS.
After doing lots of measuring and comparing both sides, we've come to the conclusion that nothing is different from one side to the other as to how far locking pins, hooks, brackets all sit ...
In the end and after lots of 'mucking' about (applying WD40 to the locking mechanism on the bottom of the seat, pulling back and forth the belt release a gazillion times, having hubby sit on the seat while I try and release the pin and god knows what else we tried) ....seems that slamming the seat several times to lock it down has done the trick!
Thanks to everyone who has replied to this thread and helped out. The seats/trim/headrests on both sidea are all in - now we just need to sort out some additional air :-)
Cheers,
Lp
