Park your D2 in the cellar
I have been shopping around for a good D2/D2a TD5 for a while now. Regrettably I may have to put off buying one for a couple of months due to being off work (family/study reasons).
A couple of months ago buying a D2a with 100-120km under $25k was no problem. Lately I have seen D2a models with prices well north of $30k and those below $25k with very high kms.
Even some 99-01 D2 models with low kms have asking prices in the low to mid $20s
When I first started looking it was a 99 D2 with 200km and a lot of fruit for $10k that caught my attention!!
Anyway I thought those that own a D2 on this forum might be pleased to hear this "news" and consider upgrading their garage to include glass doors and a temperature control!
Cheers
Michael

I purchased my "00 model for $10k and then spent the difference between that and a dearer one replacing engine (now 4.6) and rebuilding auto, plus heatercore, afm etc etc. So spent pretty much the difference. But caled insurance to update engine no and informed changes etc and they advised that the value was revised for the renewal from $17k to $18.500 but since I'd "restored" (their words) if I bought it into teir centre they could review it further if I wanted to. Now the body's not perfect and the rooflining reminds me of a nomads tent but I'm pretty happy as even if it went now I'd still be up.

I nearly fell over backwards when I enquired about trading my 01 5seater TD5 for a 7seater 04 Td5, mind you mine had done an extra 100K, they wanted $18k difference. As I saw an opportunity to upgrade to a 7 seater was the only reason for the query and that the vehicle has only been on the lot for a couple of weeks I thought I would have gotten a better deal. From memory I think they only wanted around $24k for it, and it was a base model with cloth trim.
They are holding their value at the moment.
