    TD5 disco cutting out?

I have just made a round trip 900k through barrington tops.
After leaving the dirt i set cruise control 100k.After hitting a 60k zone i use the pedal to get back up to speed and the engine stutters and the engine light comes on along with M and S lights flashing, engine only idles.
I turn off all resets and away i go with some small amount of engine stutter.
Yes i have read other posts re this issue, BUT.
I can still pull away without problems if i use the cruise control to get me up to speed.
So do i have a Harness oil (yes some oil in engine harness)problem or do i have a fault in my accelerator electronics???

I would be checking the throttle Position Sensor. If the Cruise control is able to accelerate the vehicle ok then this will be your most likely issue.

    cheers.

I would agree.....and if its not that its probably fuel pump related.

I have had this problem on my TD5 fender. Went through all the checks and ended up being TPS. If you dont see the problem using cruise control then TPS is most likely. It just progressively got worse and ended up in limp mode most of the time freaky if on hwy.

    Cutting out no more

Yesterday i disconnected the harness at the front of the timing cover using a syringe with metho in it i flushed the engine harness plug there seems to be a lot of oil that collects in the female side of the plug.
I also shot metho up into the male connector side of the injector harness.
Then i flushed the ECU plug.
Have just driven from Sydney to Canberra and no problems so far (as noted in previous post).
I dont understand how there can be a difference between driving on the throttle and driving on the cruise control.
I also dropped into Coffs harbour 4wd and got them to put the Rova comm on the D2 when i had the problems on the way back from Barrington tops, no major faults where logged that would suggest the problem was anything other than oil in the harneses.
Just the same i will change the injector harness soon to stop any further oil getting into the engine harness.
    Electricity is a strange thing.
