It should be easy to tell, if its the low tone gone it sounds like a noddy car LOL. This what mine did after to many swim sessions, hence they have been relocated to stop them scooping up water

The Low tone horn (bass) is the left hand side, high tone the right. They are labelled on each unit anyway so conclusive when you remove it.

My horn sounds just like a Noddy car and cracks me up every time I hear it.
I have one in the rear right near where the 2nd battery goes and one behind the grill. Can they be replaced with aftermarket models ??

The horn on the firewall, near the inertia switch, is for the alarm.

The D2 has 2 horns just behind the grill, either side of the radiator.

It is not uncommon for one of these to play up, and in my experience, if your car hasn't had a creek bath, then it is possibly a wiring or relay problem.

Quite often, I only have 1 horn working, and then it comes back again. I have replaced both of mine with aftermarked ones, and still have the same problem. The only thing to note is that you will have to cut off the original plug, and either fit a push on connector, or wire directly to the horn.

And when the cruise control stops working after a deep creek crossing, its the horn that's caused the fuse to blow, which also is for the cruise control.

Theres a tone adjustment screw with tamper proof sealant in it. Take it out, spray heaps of Inox in the hole and gently apply compressed air into it at a max of about 40psi an the remove pressure. Do this until you start to hear it moving inside.
Worth giving it a shake first and listen for any sloshing inside which will be water.
Pit screw back in and adjust it till it sounds right.
I repositioned my horns so they point down and drilled a small hole at the bottom of the scrolls so any water getting in drains out.
I've now got my HID balast sitting in front of them so this stops just about all water splashing in now.

    Cheers

    Changing them tomorrow.

Tried cleaning them as described but still sounded crook & blew the fuse if used for more than a few seconds.

Picked up a set of Narva 12v High tone & Low tone disc horns today.
Might even fit them with relays and on a bracket so as they face forwards and see how how they go.
