    Crank signal?

Nanocom tells me (repeatadly) that my diso 2 has a 'noisy crank signal detected'. I have cleaned the cable connectors thoroughly just in case its simply a bad connection issue but the error continues
How important is this fault and will it cause any degradation to engine performance ... eg. lead to increased fuel consumption?
    Advice would be much appreciated.

    Regards.... Dave

usually comes up during starting, clear it with the engine running and see if it comes back.

Just to muddy the water here. Is your ECU remapped? Have you had a leaking fuel regulator?
I have had faults associated with the CPS because of both these things.
Leaking fuel reg caused the wires to become very hard and break around the isulation and then diesel into the CPS. Had to replace the CPS.
The ECU upgrade had a loose chip which caused intermittent CPS (noisy) faults.

    cheers

Check if it has a shim under the crank sensor. if it doesnt fit one it will help.
