Is it still possible to 'cut' a new slot into the plug....
Plenty of brass options on ebay.... some with magnetic tips....
James
Some help on how to remove the plastic filler plug on the front diff when it has had the corners knocked off the socket fitting and the flat head screwdriver slot has also been stripped?
Also, I remember reading somewhere that there are brass ones available?
Where would I get a set or two?
Cheers

Could you get a large philips head srewdriver in it?
Or..Can you ree slot it by cutting a grove with a hacksaw?
Or..Maybe file the outer edge to make 2 flats and undo it with a shifter?
Just use a cross cut chissel or the like and a hammer and tap it undone. Although mine were in good nic, I replaced them with brass ones that I got from all four X four at Kotara. Should not be too hard to remove and since your replacing it, mutilate if necessary!!! Yes I have also seen 'em on ebay.
Regards
Robbo.
Will try all the above, in hopefully the correct order but not till I get the brass replacements, and yes, mutilate away sounds like a plan.
Thankyou all
Heat up a screwdriver tip and melt a new slot in the plug. When cool unscrew and replace with a brass one.

Hello Discobaker
Drive a chisel or large flat screwdriver into it with a hammer, use a shifter on the chisel/screwdriver to undo it, get replacement plugs(aftermarket brass is good).
It worked for me.
Cheers,
Jason
