I assume Nanocom is a diagnostic tool for identifying issues with the 3 Amigo's? Tough to get it Nanocom'd when you are merely looking at a purchase - not something I have kicking about right now and from what I understand they aren't cheap. Seems the computer issues with these vehicles are so well accepted these days but I'm a Luddite that loves simplicity ... perhaps I need to stick with an earlier purely mechanical beast ...

From my limited experience, the computer is rarely the issue. It's all the stuff that hangs of it that's the problem.
As the Amigos are intermittent, they may not be showing come roadworthy time, but I would get the current owner to arrange roadworthy certificate if he's offered (if that's what you mean by "pink slip"). One less thing for you to worry about.

Most Amigo issues are minor and there is plenty help here to sort out any problems you may have. The members are a great bunch of people and go out of their way to help anyone who ask for it. I have gone from a new owner last year wondering what I have gotten myself into (I had a couple of very minor problems initially), to a confident one.

Understanding is the key. Study RAVE, read about the issues here, buy the car (providing it's in good nick), and you wont be disappointed.

PS There is a list of Nanocom owners here that are only too willing to help out fellow members.
