Robbo - keep in mind what I stated......If only minimal change downwards, save your money and don't test (Obviously)
Be cool brother , wait it out and allow a good 2 or 3 thousand kilometers to pass. ;)
Monitor oil levels and after a while, you will see a trend start to appear whether it will be increasing or decreasing oil levels....
As the Ad says - "It won't happen overnight, but it will happen"!
Be patient mate - it's not a pace maker you're monitoring - it's a diesel engine ;)
Thanks for that mate and you have nailed me.... I am a perfectionist and it sucks sometimes. I just don't want to damage the engine as I plan to hang on to her as long as I can. I just want some closure on this issue. I'll take a chill pill and wash it down with a Coopers sparkling:p. I'll look at the level 10min after shutdown and again when the engine has cooled completely to get a bit of a trend happening. I thought the later Td5 heads were not prone to cracking like the earlier ones?
Thanks
Regards
Robbo
