It's only an issue when you start measuring in L/min.

Fuel consumption is L/100km; fuel economy is km/L

Either way, you're not getting 10L/100km or 10km/L out of a brick.

    Sorry, V8 brick.

    Double that

Just another data point, at my last fill:

The amber low fuel light came on just before I pulled in to a servo to fill up with the following result...

    400km to amber light
80L to fill to the top
    20L/100km

No highway trips and I have a feeling that my cam shaft is on the way out as it no longer idles smoothly...

Like Freightdog, i find the D2 V8's fuel gauge accurate, 20l to the fist line then 10l for each line after that. My light comes on once 80l is used without fail and has 15l left. Mine has the low comp V8 and get about 450kms to 80l around town, the tradie trailer (1 - 1.5 ton) on the back doesn't seem to make much difference. PULP doesn't make much difference to fuel consumption, just makes it go a bit better. Mine has 220k on the clock

Can anyone confirm the performance figures from this site?
Or aren't we allowed to talk about that on this site?

Well, with the 37s on I get 250 kms to a tank, IF the air filter is clean. With lots of low range work you can pretty much halve that. When I first bought the poor doomed thing and it was in pretty much mint condition with standard road tyres I would get 600 odd ks regardless of freeway/ city use. The best it ever did was 700 when touring around the king valley. If the d2 inlet manifold makes such a difference can they be fitted to the d1? Also does the bigger 4.6 help? The 3.9 is pretty bloody small, not even a falcon 6, barely bigger than a commodore.

Bugger my RRC with 3.9 intake and 4l D2 block with 35's get better than that. I wonder if you have other issues affecting your consumption. But it is fun isnt it!!
