Regular changes with STRAINER I have been told by my local it is important. After replacing auto cooler I used auto fluid purchased from local garage[not penrite] not so good. Took disco to Cairns to LR specialist ---PENRITE---and new strainer all feels good [peace of mind maybe]:)
Thanks XHPBT1. Was that Penrite SIN ATF or DX-3? Shop people were trying to sell me the SIN-ATF but the website shows DX-3 as the recommended oil.Quote:

I use the synthetic one and swear by it...
I would be putting that in with a new filter...
drive it for about 1000km... and change the oil again...
drive it again for another 2000km and change it again...
thats what I did on mine but!
a good friend of mine is a Mechanic and said that they have a machine that can flush the Autobox with 100% new oil in one go... you should do that to give you results stright away...
the mechanic has a shop at Garden City Next to Clive Peters...
most honesty mechanic i have ever known...
(he drives a D1 so he has the passion also):D

and what price he charges---;)
