Bullbar, Towing etc... I'd say go for it....
Sorry to ask this tired old question ... but with the $AU so good at the moment do I need Bilsteins, 'cause I can now afford them.
The Disco has done about 90000kms, the front shocks are leaking so may as well replace the lot ... right ... with gas shocks?
The car does very little off-road (fire-trails / beach) mostly an everyday car that tows the camper trailer (1300kgs) on holidays.
The mechanic has mentioned TerraFirma (at around $600) or I've found Bilsteins from the US for around $500 landed.
Do I really need a Heavy Duty Bilstein Shock?
Thoughts ...
Thanks ... and sorry for yet another shocking question.

Yes, get Bilsteins, don't bother with other brands.
Just ordered a set of Bilstiens for the Disco from www.truckspring.com for around $520 AU or in other terms ... around $300 cheaper than anywhere I could find here! I went with these guys (who were $13 more expensive... in total) because I've used them for my air-springs.
That's $95 per shock plus $128 for shipping (US dollars)
Now I've just got to wait ... should be here in 7-10 days.
... sorry to bring up an old thread but ... LOOK WHAT CAME FOR ME YESTERDAY!Closer to 2 weeks than 7-10 days ... but for the price, no complaints from me.
Very excited!!!
Now I've just gotta wait for Peter from Roving Mechanical to install for me ...... 'bout two weeks.
I'll post again when it's done to give you some feedback.
Hi that sounds like a good price.
Did you get a steering damper as well or is that not necessary?
Also does anyone know if you can gain a 25mm lift with these and still using the factory springs. If not what springs would be suitable to go with the Bilsteins?
Cheers, Anton
