Lloyd, which globes did you buy. For a 2a, I assume you bought H7s? These are halogen bulbs, yes? That don't need a new harness etc, just change over globes?

Are the globes in the main lamp the same as the high beam lamp?

Are there any issues with excessive heat affecting the reflector?
