    Drivers Door Quirky Lock

Just took delivery of my 03 TD5 with only 84,000 clicks yesterday with everything (except the cig lighter) working as it appeared it should be.
This morning, get to a jobsite & the mongrel won't let me out of the drivers seat!
Tried the fob, tried the button inside to no avail.
You can hear the lock actuate but it will not open from the inside.
So I have to wind down the window, release the door by the exterior handle & then wind the window back up.
It locks up perfectly, just won't unlock properly when using the inside lever . . . . I thought I gave up the winding the window down to open the door routine years ago when I upgraded from my Mini panel van!

I read a few posts about the lock failing but this doesn't seem to be complete failure.
    Any ideas folks?

Hi It might just be a clip has fallen off and the part that actuates the lock from the inside handle is not connected. If you dont already have one get the Rave CD available on this site it has the workshop manual and a lot of other good stuff.

Just do a search on here for rave cd.

If you have only just purchased it and it came with a RWC you can proberly get it fixed as I think the RWC has to last 30 days?? Might be worth checking

    Cable disconnected from Door Latch

    Wodnee

I'm assuming when you press the fob and the unlock/lock button on the dash the actual door lock goes up and down. If this is the case then it's just a matter of the cable which runs from the door handle to the latch is broken or has somehow come off. The cable is similar to the brake cable on a push bike.

The cable from the door handle connects to the hook of the latch. Image attached. Hook on top left side.

As per the previous reply if under warranty no problems but in any case will be a very easy fix.

If the lock also doesn't go up when you press the fob or the dash button then it must also be disconnected at the green connection. (This is a bit unusual, and if so I would be inclined to believe it's the complete door latch which is the part in the image, this just means more money but relatively easy to fix).

    Regards
    Andrew
