    The SLS compressor is under the floor below the front passenger seat in a black plastic box.

    One is likley to be the stacker, and the other one is a power amp for the stereo, or a DVD player ... if it has an overhead DVD.

    The SLS compressor is _under_ the floor pan, passengers side, in a black plastic box.

    Thanks for that everyone. I did see the box under the floor which would be the compressor.The left underseat one did look like an amp but the radio in the dash is original tapedeck, would anyone bother putting an amp on this? The BFG tyres that were on it do look good and I was spewin they had been changed but I negotiated in the purchase price to have 4 new BF's put on so I'm pretty happy about that.
    One question I have the tyres on it are 235/75/16's I think they were, would it throw out the gearing/power/economy or create any problems at all going to a 265/70/16 or 265/75/16 and out of these 2 which would be better in general.
    Appologies for all the questions but I'd rather ask you all that would know than make a big mistake.

    Gday Sharkee and congrats on the purchase..

    I run 245's on mine and seemed to make no noticable difference, but I do know plenty run 265's..do a search there will be planty of reading, think they may rub on the plastic on the inner guard at full lock, but am sure I will be corrected..

    Does it have a Low coolant level alarm fitted ?.. If not invest in 1 of these straight up, they have saved many a TD5 mine included..

    Also with no real history on the service's( unless I read wrongly ) would pay to get the oil pump bolt checked at the next service..if your handy with a spanner its not that hard, and plenty of step by step guides on here in the tutorial section..

    Enjoy the car, they are a great vehicle and surprising how good they are off road..

    Havn't really followed this thread as good advice was comming
    The "amp" under the left seat, under the black cover is the auto ecu..
    The air compresor as stated is off the chasis rail.
    Grab the coolant alarm, they don't like getting hot and it's money well spent(vendor section has a good one).
    A few run tyres at 265 width but a few who tow reguarly go 235 for better towing(less rubber in contact with the road).

    Thanks Guys I will definately look at getting a coolant alarm asap.I was thinking that wider tyres = wider wheel track and better handling but I think I'll leave the tyre size as is. As soon as I get it I want to get the auto serviced and get it checked over. I was thinking of taking it to (I think its Les Richmond) a LR specialist in Wood st Thomastown.

    My '99(good year) has a steel spare also.
    Mine has a full size plastic cover to hide it(now in shed).
    If you change the wheel fitt the flat nuts to the carrier first to space the alloy out.
    The studs are to long for the alloy wheel on mine.

    I run 265/75R16 with a small lift.

    It did change the gearing a bit, especially noticeable on the highway where 100kph revs dropped from 2450 to 2200. It doesn't sound like much, but I found that it didn't hold as well on hills as it had less torque and would drop down the gears. I then had it remapped by Tombie and I'm all smiles again.

    My speedo/odo was also out by about 10%. 60kph gps~54kph indicated - 80/~71 - 100/~90. You will also need to add 10% to the odometer when calculating fuel consumption. (They will also add a bit to your fuel consumption as the car needs to work harder to turn them - especially around town.)

    As to, "Is it worth it?" My vote is yes. With a 50mm lift and 265/75R16 you gain about 75mm of clearance.
