Be very careful, they're are some real mongrels out there that will quote you one price and give you a nasty little suprise when you go to pick it up. I won't publicly name the reputed company that fleesed me and were down right nasty to my missus when she querried the extra $2000:mad: but pm sent to avoid them.
That's a court case if I ever seen one, registered mechanics are required by law to notify the customer if there is any alteration to the originally quoted amount BEFORE extra work commences!!!Quote:

IIRC they are allowed a 10% variation. Written quotes only, if you only have a verbal then bad luck to you. Whenever I was costing jobs I would make it clear it was an estimate, not a quote.Quote:
