Any idea what just happened to me?

I was turning the kids dvd player in the lounge off, pushed stop and the alarm went off on the car (its just outside the door). I know there is a big moth flying around in there so would the inside alarm sensors be that sensitive to have triggered it by this moth flying around or is it possible the dvd remote is on the same frequency as the alarm as it coincided when I pushed the button, A coincidence? or not. Has anyone had a similar thing happen cause thats weird.
    Thanks Steve

Haha!! Yep, the sensors inside are pretty sensitive. If in doubt try pressing the DVD remote buttons again to rule it I or out.

If it is the DVD remote, it'll be much cheaper to get a new DVD player than remedy it on the cars end.

Ha Ha yeah thanks guys I thought maybe that might have been the culprit. It was just amazing it happened when I pushed the button. I'll check it again in the morning with the remote to be sure.
    Thanks again

As long as the moth wasn't attached to a head like this, you (and your neighbours) will be OK.

Your remote is more than likely (unless it is REALLY top end) going to be Infrared not RF therefore not going to trigger the alarm. Also unless you have a panic button on your alarm it should have only armed or disarmed with a button push not trigger the alarm to go off....

Yep the dreaded Moth..Had it happen to us in a van park at about 2 am the funny thing was about 20 people came running out and turned their cars on/off, not really sure if anyone knew exactly who the culprit was..

seems funny now but wasnt then.
