    D2 egr diy

    hi all,

wanting to remove the egr system from the td5 D2. have a mate who can make up the hose end but need the dimensions from anyone. thickness of steel in mm, diameter of the tubing and then will weld up. diy at home. the smaller piece on p/side will look into as well again thickness mm and will trace over original piece and cut out. presuming only air is flowing thru so the welds does not have to be perfect ? on the pipe and backing plate or does it need to be sealed perfectly. cheers

Or.......simply gut the EGR modulator housing, press in some welsh plugs to seal up the fitting holes on the body of the modulator - grind out the lump of alloy to smooth out the air-flow and fill in the hole with epoxy and refit the modulator back in place.

Total job cost me $40.00 for the welsh plugs and epoxy and it still looks original even with a detailed glance!

Works great - I can post some pics if you wish!
