    TD5 mounted at an angle

Hi. Anyone who knows why the Td5 in a Discovery 2 with automatic transmission sits not level in the engine bay but is tilted backwards at quite an angle (see image)?

Can you check your Td5 installation? Better visible with the soundproofing cover removed.

Newish engine and RH gearbox mount. I think it is meant to be like this but what were Solihulls finest Engineering Dept. thoughts behind this angled install?

Sat a spirit level on my engine. It took a lift of about 9mm at the rear to level it. Nowhere near as great an angle as yours.

All - your efforts are much appreciated! Note that my Discovery has a 2" raised suspension but can't see how that can affect that angle since engine and autobox are mounted to the chassis. Dinosaur: was your acoustic cover removed when you used the level?

haven't had spacers put in transfer box mountings to level out the output shafts from the transfer case have you ?
that would account for low level at the rear of engine.
