    Dogs are just like people,,
    they like to look around,
and Landrovers are known for their command driving position,,,

My 2000 standard, base, unoptioned, no frills model has it.

However as you say the third billy lid renders it inaccessible.
Thanks Stuu, mate mine is the genuine pov pack. Steel wheels but I optioned up to the mags and nice sound system. It has no electric mirror (never worried me - my D1 has them but I dont miss them in the D2), no cargo blind (not missed with cage and LPG tanks) and no centre fold down arm rest and head rest in centre rear.

    Cheers

    First remove the facia

This is simply done by prising it off. The facia is retained at each end by a plastic lug as shown below.

Next remove the whole cassette again by prising this out.

There is a metal retaining clip at each side as per the pic below

To remove the drinks holder from the cassette, open it in the correct way up position and then gently lever out the plastic retaining lug to get it most of the way out.

Finally lift the end to allow the yellow plastic gear wheel past the opening. Be careful not to turn the holder upside down or the spring will fall out
