I can vouch for them on competition machinery! Had an electro-magnetic water pump fitted that was thermostatically controlled (You could pick the optimum temp). It worked fine in all weather conditions on a V8 that ran to 8500rpm and was pushing close to 300bhp!
Minimal battery draw and I could run it on after engine shutdown to prevent heat sink.
Can't see any reason why a similar system couldn't be adapted to a TD5 although from an engineering perspective - do you think the cost and significant modifications would gain you enough to justify all of this for what could be just 3-4 additional HP??
