Red Ace Light with warning sound!

    Hi

I am getting a Red warning on the Ace as well as the beep.

this week the Rear sway bar separated on me on the ram side. While I am waiting for a replacement to com in on Tuesday I have drilled and tapped a whole in the link end into the ball to hold it there.

The light first come on when I first found the Link in 2 pieces with the ram no down on the axel. Once I had the link back together with a bolt in it I had to slowly push the ram up with the jack.

Befor all of this I noticed the Ram has a slight leak. and the Boot has split.

tomorrow I will change the ACE oil. how do I do This?

Also can the filter be cleaned and what should I use to clean it with?

    Cheers

    Matt

ACE oil is only available from LR, DO NOT use ATF or anything else. Flush and bleed is done using Testbook, Rovacom, Autologic etc. You CAN fit a new filter and run some new oil through it but it doesn't constitute a full bleed and flush.
This should however be quite sufficient UNLESS the original oil is putrid, then it will req dealer/ specialist intervention I'm afraid.

Ah yes sorry Andy, your right. I think this is the only one though, other than LR's genuine fluid.

I have seen some ATF etc used in the past, with expensive results hence my warning.

    Thanks guys.

Do you think this is connected to the link joint separating or just a coincidence?

Can I just clean the filter?

Is there a way of changing the oil and bleeding the system without a nanocom?

    Cheers

Getting back to the Penrite, make sure they give you the bottle with "Landrover, ACE," etc on the label not just the standard Penrite which I've had the local spares shop look up in the catalogue and give me. I bought the PAS fluid from Repco. Haven't used it, as even though I left the bottles in the car Landrover put their own stuff in, expensive at $60 a litre if I recall correctly.

My ACE system ATM is disabled, LR mech for the life of him can't find the fault. I had the same issues, warning light & beep followed by the warning light changing from orange to red. I think as a result of air getting into the system with the motor change I believe. LR mech bled all the air out, changing the fluid also & still called no joy, all the components seem to be functioning normally but until I've got some more coin to get him to dig deeper, this is how it will stay.

    Well this is weird

I have just disconnected the Battery for the afternoon to check my Loom and the ECU for oil (All Clear there)

I reconnected and went for a drive while it was sitting in the driveway before driving it and the car would rock every now and then. I figure It was a diagnostic thing as the light is now out and it is cornering like a GTR.

I havn't found suitable fluid yet. an I going to let air into the system when I clean the filter?

    Cheers

    Matt
