Exclamation Disco 2 factory lock nut key

HELP!!!!! I'm living in Port Lincoln and about to drive to Brisbane on Friday and i desperately need a factory lock nut key. After returning home from work 2 days ago i noticed my wheel brace and lock nut key missing from the disco. It was at this time that my ******* ***** (read - darling dearest) wife informed me they may have been left on the rear bumper and she may have driven off without realising it. I now have 2 days to locate another before undertaking a 2000km trip to Brisbane.
I cant leave without them but the removalist truck is booked and i have to leave friday - HELP PLEASE!!!!

A simple solution is to maybe find another D2 owner (possibly contacts thru any local LR repairer), & try and use his key to remove the lock nuts & do a temp. swap of your lock nuts for some of his std. nuts leaving your wife as security. BUT I recall seeing somewhere that the lock nut keys are coded to the vehicle, if correct this solution won't work. Someone else on here will know.
No help now but when the drama is over make sure u get rid of the lock nuts forever, they are not worth the potential problems
    Good Luck Discolaw

I am happy to lend you mine, as I have replaced the lock nuts, but getting it to you in time may be problem.

What time are you leaving on your trip? If it isn't until late afternoon, I could probably send mine back with Toombie when I meet with him on Friday to do the prawns.

Failing that, the only other option is maybe an express post bag.

    Let me know your thoughts.

The wheel nuts are a 27mm socket. So a bar and socket is OK for that. As mentioned vice grips area a good option for the lock nuts. I'd look at getting 5 standard nuts and removing the locking ones anyway.

    Hi Basil135

There is more than one lock nut key

    Make sure yours will fit

Mate, have you got a picture of a pattern required..... TRS in adelaide will be a good passing point for you... Most decent recovery agents have an adaptable lock nut set to assist in wheel changes... or join RAA just in case...

Maybe try talking to your local dealer service guys...it maybe that they have a "master" key which will allow you to remove the locknuts and replace with something else...they may even have a wheel brace...or a wrecker in your area??? Or a tyre centre...I would think they deal with similar things often...

some tyre places will overtighten the other nuts which 'loosens' the locknut - make enquiries. they do it for customers who have bought cars with no lock key
