Weird Electrical Problem
Well at least I think it's an electrical problem?? I have a D2a that has just this afternoon started doing weird things. My key fob now only turns the alarm on and off but does not operate the central locking. While inside the car the indicator/Hazard lights flash, but outside nothing is happening. The little light on the shifter that says what gear you are in is no longer working.
Head lights work, radio and aircon also work.
What would be going on??? I have no idea about technical car stuff...
Thanks
Rhianna

Hey Rhianna.
Try the simple things first. Replace the battery in your key. Then check the car's battery for correct charge. Replace if necessary. If your D2a is a TD5, the correct battery is the Century 86ZMF CCA950. Other than that it could be a bad earth. These are easy to fix, just unbolt the earth wire (black) and clean up the connection with the body of the vehicle then replace and tighten.
Hope this helps.
Regards
Robbo.

You may have tripped the inertia switch. It's a black 1 inch diameter rubber button in the engine bay, on the passenger side firewall. Just press it down and see what happens.
