    How many km's has your fuel pump done

    Gday All,

    This seems to be like asking for the lotto numbers, but am curious as to what km's the D2 fuel pumps seem to be good for.

    Mine has 240,000 and seems to be hanging in there, but do have a spare incase..

    251000ks,no reciept for it being done before I bought it 198000ks.
    A spare is on the wish list.

    Ean, If you are in a remote area, I'd do it before it 'does' you

    I have replaced many at 100 to 150K, but some I have seen top 300K

    I still reckon 150k is a good interval, beats towing it one day unexpectedly, they don't usually give any obvious warnings.

    Its on my too doo list before I go anywhere far,at least if the original is still operational it becomes the spare.

    271K Kms and still going strong....but now that I've said that it will probably fail tomorrow.

    I've heard that if you always keep the tank full-ish they do last a bit longer, which is what I have done....I do not know how true this is though.

    Hendrik, good point, and Also a dose of a fungicide additive etc regularly stops the algae colony beginning, another cause of early pump problems.

    What fungicide additive would you suggest,& where from?Should do mine as it is low mileage,that is doesn't go far,often one tank of fuel lasts more than a month.
