    Rear Propshaft Bush Removal

    Hi All

I have purchased a new "donut" and center bush for my Disco rear propshaft.
How do I remove the old bush and how do I get the new bush in?

Please, I would appreciate any advice

grab it with a pair of vice grips and then smack it forwards with a small hammer.

liberal application of wd40/freezenrelease and twisting it also helps.

Pack it full of grease and then select a socket (1/2" 11 or 12 mm from memory) that is a tight fit in the bush. Put a coin over the end of the socket (5c from memory) and then knock the socket in to the bush. The hydraulic action will force the bush out.

That sounds like the pin removal procedure.

I got it out with a hammer and chisel, the most violent thing I have had to do on my disco.

I used a slide hammer with a single leg attatched and then wedged it with a screw driver in the bush as well, 2 wacks and it was out.
