for a D2a the best bar for offroad (best approach angle) is the TJM

I think for a 'city car' the ARB sahara is the go

Guy around the corner from me has an ECB and it is YUK!!! looks terrible. It may be an old version (still is a D2a tho) but fit and finsh are poo.

    RACQ Discount

    Peter,

If you are in the RACQ you get a 15% discount on ECB. So, that's about $300 off.

Have to agree, this looks bad compared to any of the bars for the D2 offered by ARB "imo"

Ill post up later Smokey who is in at the moment getting a ARB Deluxe Winch Bar fitted....plus winch.....plus spotties. I negotiated with them based on prices ( for the bar....got the rest elsewhere) that I could get oversea's. Got them down to $1586 for the bar and $180 to fit. Could have had mates fit it...but easier to have them do it.

    Regards

I think the ARB ones do have the asthetic edge over ECB.

But an ECB has the advantage of not having to upgarde your suspension. Which I like as the pocket will take a hammering if needed to do both within a short period.

I know a lot of people like the ARB, as they are steel and hence stronger, peronal choice I guess based on what u plane on doing withit.

I know last year when i bit the bullet and decided to get a ECB before a big trip, they didnt have any in stock, and wouldnt be ready before i went, not even a nudge bar was in stock.

I recall with ECB, u cannot but direct off them, must go thru a retailer, who adds on freight to the price.

Anyone know if u can get a discount in NSW for ECB like RACQ in qld?

The ECB bar is as ugly as sin.....no questions about it. I would and have...rather wait a bit longer as dependant on how long you keep your D2......in my case for quite a few years to come....I dont want to come out and cry everytime I see how ugly it has become .

As for strength......that has to be the major factor above all else......again why I chose the ARB. I want it to wear the damage....not the vehicle. So rather have that strength from the get go. One may save on a cheaper bar.....but end up costing more when it actually gets used,
