The material will cost you about $10.00
The plastic holder (as you know now) simply clips open to release the material and allow the insert of the new.

Hi All
Underneath the Windscreen Centre Cowl is an inlet that takes air to the Airblower and A/C system.
These filters are totally rotten on mine and resulting in dust and bits of foam getting into the blwoer motor and vents.
After an enormous struggle (will be easier next time) I got the whole mechanism out, but now need to know where can I get these filter elements, do I need to replace the whole top component, whats the deal?
Have you ever noticed that one simple job on a Disco leads to many more?

I think you may be referring to this

Whereas I am referring to the large air intake directly under the cowl that feeds directly into the airblower.
I have found a solution, and am busy fitting it. Will submit a photo shortly
You're right, and will be interested to see what you are talking about
Cheers
At last finished - Now I know that it is not a filter but rather that the - flaps - of the air intake are covered in foam on both sides, to ensure proper sealing. I have replaced the foam, and now have a far better seal, and will not have old foam falling into my blower.
Photo to follow
So the mystery part is actually foam covering the flaps on the Air Intake, see part number 10 , on attached photo, this is found underneath the Windscreen Cowl
I have stripped mine, replaced the foam, so now no more dust, no more foam in my air blower, just a good seal
