D2a factory bullbar?
Can anyone pls offer advice on the Landrover factory bullbar? How does it stack up to the TJM or ARB ones? I am looking at a car with one on it interstate.
They appear to be more a nudge bar with wings, what's the strength like? And can you put a winch on the chassis under them?

They're a brush bar and that's about it. As for a winch,
I wouldn't even snatch a Matchbox car with one!

As I feared, hence the question.
Perhaps more suitable for pushing through thistles in the Scottish moors rather than meeting a big red roo at 110kmh on the Nullarbor?

Disco factory bars are great. They will stop any medium size grass hopper, moth or even a swarm of mosquitoes! You will be confident of little damage should you ever encounter a tumble weed.
If it were me I wouldnt palce any extra value on the car for having it, unlike a TJM or ARB.
IMO these bars often cause more damage in a minor altercation than not having one at all.
I looke at both ARB and TJM bars construction and design/options before I bought mine. IMO the ARB is the definitely stronger bar while the TJM seems to have a slightly better aproach angle.
The TJM bar can have a winch fitted anytime after you buy it by installing a winch cradle. The ARB bar is either winch or non winch at time of purchase.
Big Red at a 100 is a big ask for any bar, at least with a real bar you should complete the trip.
cheers

Got one on our 99 D2, at the moment it holds up the spotlights, but I think that's about all I could ask of it.
