Warn Winch 7585 on ARB bar

    Hi -

I'm just about to cross over to the dark side and become a Disco owner after many years with my beloved FJ40 and HJ60 series.

Anyway, the HJ60 is probably going to become a trade in and I am stripping my gear from it (HF, UHF, CB etc) and - probably - my winch.

I have an old Warn 7585 according to the sticker which until recently worked and the problem is electrical, I have not yet had a chance to resolve it. I can't find any reference to this model on line, so I am not sure what it will fit.

Anyway, I am wanting to know if it will fit on a D2a with an ARB bullbar. The D2a I am buying does not have a bar yet, but I'm planning to fit one later in the year.

If it fits, I'll keep it and fix it. If it won't I'll leave it on the HJ and trade it in at - hopefully - a slightly higher price (if only a couple of hundred).

    Thanks

As far as I can see, the winch is a Warn m8274, commonly known as a high mount

As for will it fit, it certainly wouldnt on the Sahara bar on ours.

Sell it privately if you are getting rid. They dont go for peanuts.

I'm also going to a D2 & keeping my high mount.
The plan is to modify the bull bar to take the winch, but if that doesn't work I'll sell it & buy a low mount.

As Psimpson7 said, take it off the Toyota & sell it if you can't use it.

Anything can fit if you really want it to. But standard no it wont.

The arb bar is a c section between the two chassis rails meaning that you cannot fit a highmount winch without modification. Cutting the top section out would weaken the bar so additional reinforcements would be required. But even after doing this you will need some grill modifications as per my D1.

BTW the bar on my D1 is a range rover bar originally made by ARB with the centre top section open.

Lovely, thanks for the advice. The winch is off and on the garage floor now to fix and tidy. Bloody heavy it is too! It'll be on eBay soon.
