    TD5 just gained 4lb's!!

Had the determination to find the reason why boost wouldnt go past 1.12bar (16psi).

Screwed adjuster to the shortest length it would go but still no increase in boost.
Let it all cool and unbolted everything. Vanes were fine, put a blast of compressed air in the exhaust inlet and loosened a small puff of soot but vanes spun perfectly.
Then while looking up the exhaust outlet, there it was, one wastegate with a bent flap and partially open....

Straightened it all out, put it back on and adjusted rod back to where it had been set. First time it's given a rev and overboosts almost immediately, check boost telltale on gauge, peak of 1.58bar
Have it sitting happily now on a surge peak of 1.4bar and settles back to about 1.37-1.38bar peak.

So all in all a good result! 1.12 to 1.38, or just short of 4psi. Can't wait to get on the freeway tomorrow and give it some stick in top gear to see how it pulls

And just how does the flap get bent in a closed system?

    Please excuse my ignorance.

Probably from sticking. Wasn't exactly free when it was first removed. Rotating it in the housing will hit the body resulting in a bent flap.
CRC and some motion freed it up pretty quick.
