Sunraysia style rims on Disco 2??
Hi guys,
Im still struggling to find 16 inch alloys for my disco. I want some agressive mud tyres for weekend use and use my 18s when im not doing silly things with my disco.
So far i have found out that there is aftermarket steel rims but they are a +30 offset which means the will stick out further than my 18s by about 20 mm. Im sure this puts extra stress on my wheel bearings and hubs. But how much stress? Im planning on running 235 85 16 federal couragias so i could use a 7 inch rim wich will sit 12mm narrower.
Does anyone have these aftermarket steel rims. Im sick of waiting and getting stuck in the mud
Thanks guys.
Michael.

There should be plenty of 7" alloys around & D2 steels are 7" too.
Non HSE P38s are 7" also.
The D2 steels are a bit thin on the ground but pop up on here/eBay from time to time.
Check your nearest LR dealer workshop - they might have a stash from wheel swaps as fitting 18s to new cars was fairly common.

Dyamic and Procomp both make steel rims for them. They shouldnt stick out past the gaurds, i know my Dynamics dont. For the amount of added stress with offset, I'd say in the life of the car and since they are a second set of tires, you wont have an issue. Mine have done 20,000k on the car everyday and not had an issue.
The Dynamics are about $130 ea. If your after a some alloys give Jag Rover a ring he has heaps usually. I see your on the coast, but they are in Newmarket on the northside of Bris, 3356 5255. Always the best price and fast service.

Not sure what your freight cost would be BUT Triumph Rover Spares in Adelaide has dozens of sets of Alloys and Steelies.....(Heaps heavier than alloy though)

Thanks guys,
I have an account with dynamic and that is who gave me the price on the rims. Allied wheels also now supply steel wheels for disco 2 and are a tiny bit cheaper. They are all + 30 off set though.
That_kid are yours 30 off set too?
I actually fitted a ve commodore steel 16x7 rim to the disco today. I had to grind the centre hole out from 66.9 mm to 70 mm. The original wheel nuts from the commodore fit as well. I have 2 sets of these at work so I'm looking at fitting these instead. I'm not sure how strong they will be though. The offset is + 43 which is much better than + 30. and they are free.
