    Recommend Air filter box?

I have just bought a Disco 2 with LPG and, you guessed it, the last owner didn't keep up with his maintenance and it must have backfired blowing the air box to ... well ...far anyway

Anyhow I'm thinking of a beefier version

    Any ideas?

Also I have had quotes ranging from Barbayouknows for $520 all the way to West Coast Rover at $160 - am I missing something? Surely the rip-off margin isn't THAT huge?

Keys were 30% cheaper but not 300% cheaper - makes me wonder...

    Thanks in advance

    Scott

Rip it off and put an early RRC cylinder type air cleaner on. This is what I did to the last one that came through here:

They are VN Commodore connecting hoses, quite robust.

Or go the whole hog and fit LPG injection...

Call a donaldson dealer and tell them what you are after and see what they have to offer. Donaldson make at least 40% of OEM filter and filter box assemblies anyway.

The RRC would have to make the element cheaper as well. I was quoted anywhere from $187- to $267- for a Ryco.

I like the Rangie classic idea but it might make fitting a snorkel that bit harder. I used beeutey's commodore hose idea and they are great. Very strong. Backfire should not be occurring but its a sure way of knowing earlier than you ever would with petrol that your spark is not up to scratch. For eg a lead or coil pack. What about getting the bottom made out of alloy from q fabrication shop. The lids never crack. Cheers

I had the same problem with my early LPG install on my P38A. I went for an earlier steel canister.
