    radiator nipple broken

    Hey guys,

My radiator nipple has broken off, which results in me getting a new radiator. I am after an aftermarket radiator.

What would you recommend, and what price would it be?

    Regards,

    Michael

I've just been through this myself (mines a td5); I ended up buying genuine for $420 (retail) from a dealer, had to shop around though - another dealer wanted $680 for the same part..

I did consider G&K (?), one shop said it was OEM but I could not find any evidence to substantiate that claim, best price I found was $380.

Advice from others on this site was to stay with original so at $420 it looked about right and believe me its not a job that you will want to do again anytime soon!

    good luck.

I had that happen to me in Alice..drilled the nipple out, tapped a 1/4 bsp thread and fitted a new nipple...lasted for a couple of years with no leaks till I fitted a new radiator.

    Cheers Ean
