monitering devices for TD5
Hi all,
i have a question on monitering boost egt's water etc.
There is a number of individual items out there inckluding boodst guages, egt guages, engine saver etc.
If you purchased a EMS kit from Madmans would you still need to buy some of these other items especiallythe engine saver? The EMS kit seems to monitor 5 things with different options avaialble EGT's, Boost, Coolant Temp, Oil Temp, Coolant Level, transfer case temp and oil pressure.
Mydefinate four options would be EGT,BOOST, COOLANT TEMP, COOLANT LEVEL, What would be the best option for the fifth in a manual TD5 Transfer case Temp or Ol Pressure?
Has any one used one these before and will it forfeit the requirment of using the engine saver and all the other goodies? Seems like a really good idea havein it all inthe one neat package instead of having seperate guages and buzzers in already tight dash area.
Love to hear your thoughts. I have attached a link below.

The EMS does exactly the same thing as the engine saver. It will give you a visual, and audio alarm. It can also be wired up to turn the engine off automatically, if you wish.
Only difference (for temp reading on D2) is this:
Engine Saver has a brass plug for the top of the radiator hose, which incorporates a temp sender.
EMS uses two screws into the coolant overflow bottle as the temp sender.
Best solution (IMHO), buy the EMS, more expensive, but more info, and ask Mr. ENgine Saver nicely if you can buy one of his temp senders.
