Start with the inertia switch, on the passenger side firewall, under the bonnet. press the big rubber button on top. They are known to be touchy.

From the engine wiring: check in pass comp fuse box: Fuse 24, fuse 14, ign relay R211
Eng comp check fuse 13, (inertia sw), link 8, main relay R100. This relay switches on the fuel pump and other functions when the inertia circuit is operated. If you temporarily earth terminal 86 of the main relay this bypasses the ECU's switching-on circuitry. It is a small blue/red striped wire to the ECU. Check for 12V at terminal 85 and terminal 30 of this relay.

I remember researching this before and working out how the anti-theft worked. There is a simple "transit plug" under the dash somewhere which bypasses the anti-theft. Look for a blue/red stripe wire in a loose plug and earth it. The wiring diagram on my laptop doesn't show that bit but it's in RAVE somewhere.

My money is on the main relay under the bonnet. Try looking at the yellow relays and see if they are identified. They are a known failure item. Check their terminal arrangement, you may be able to swap relays. Bridging the main relay, terminal 30 to 87 will also energise the fuel pump circuit.
