Question Recovery points on the D2

A bit of a newbie question, but are the standard tow/recovery points on the D2 adequate?
There is one either side of the fuel tank on the rear and one loop on the passenger side on the front.

These are tie down points only. Plenty of info to search on proper recovery points that are bolted to the chassis in the front or part of a bull bar. Rear you can use the receiver hitch in a tow bar.

Tie down points? For the purpose of when the vehicle is being moved on a flat bed truck or the like?

    Towing point

The front hook is for towing recovery (ie on road towing), not for recovery from a bog and it is not a tie down point. (Rave CD p120 of user manual; 08-02 of workshop manual.) The lashing (tiedown) points are behind the front wheels and on the back chassis.

Obviously, the front hook can be used to tie the vehicle, as it's rated at quite a few kilos for the towing requirement.

However, a rated recovery point should be used, rather than the front hook for offroad recovery (snatches, winching). Look at The Verandah for recovery points - eg philco has some good front recovery point sets for a good price.

Cheers. Just wanted to check before spending dollars and effort in putting proper recovery points in, as I didn't plan on putting them in just for bling factor!

And for anyone searching this site who doesn't have a bullbar, just a standard LR front bumper, you cannot fix the type that twr7cx fitted as it wont clear the bottom of the the standard LR bumper. So an option you can consider is cutting a second hole in the bumper and installing a second front tow point behind the drivers side crush can and using a bridle suggested by Pedro, (and IMHO always a very sensible idea with any recovery). This set up has pulled me out out very successfully a few times.
