Have you removed the 2 plastic retainers, on the top side, one close to each end. These have to be prized out and are hard to remove.
Erich
Hi all. D2, need to remove the windscreen tray. Have undone the 2 screws and receivers on the side, the centre bolt, the wipers and retaining nuts etc, and the whole thing is loose. But I cannot seem to get it to come away. Have levered it over one of the side trims, which I don't want to remove if I can avoid it. I can't find any other mounting points, so am stumped.
Can anyone please help out with what I am missing?
Thanks
Regards, Will

Hi Erich, thanks for the reply. Yes, have removed them as well. The whole tray is loose and moving, but can't seem to get it to come away.

Possibly some sikaflex left behind from a windscreen replacement and holding it. I have removed lots and all I do is:
1 remove the bonnet
2 remove the small flexible rubber end pieces and the vertical black trims (leave these alone if possible)
3 remove the 2 plastic studs
4 remove remove the 10mm screw in the center
5 remove the wipers
The unit should lift off. Other than that, I can't offer too many other suggestions.
Erich
Thanks Erich, will have a look in the morning. Have done all you said, must be some sikaflex left over.
Update: yes, was a small daub of sikaflex. Have now found the source of cabin leaks.

Assuming you are talking about the plenum. There are two (pretty sure, might be three) tabs which slide under the windscreen so you have to pull the plenum on the same angle (roughly) as the windscreen towards your engine bay. If you pull directly up or closer to 90 degrees to the window you will snap or bend these tabs.
As you have said it's a good idea not to remove the side trims because these are only held on by some very thin plastic moulding and rigid clips. Poor design again by LR

Andrew
