When my D2 TD5 was new I did from Melbourne to ( side track to the dish) on one tank 950km filled up at Dubbo 102liters how much fuel was left??? but the amazing thing was that I was pushing the D2 over 140km to 160km when ever I could and still achieved amazing fuel economy

I'm getting around 10.8-11.8L/100km doing mixed short city trips and country driving. Last tank came in at 11L/100km over 700km, which included a LROVC 4x4 proficiency course (all low range), a drive out thru Healesville and over Dom Dom saddle and the Acheron Gap, plus a couple of birdwatching trips which involve a lot of stopping and starting (as in stopping and getting out repeatedly over a period of a 2-3 hours).

    Hi all,

been over here in Oz for 3 weeks and managed to gete hold of a D2a TD5 auto in the first week.

I reckon I'm getting 10.8l/100km off the first few tanks we've gone through, whihc isn't too bad considering that a lot of that will be on shorter journeys.

Jusst gotta trace my oil leaks now.....and fuel leak...and coolant leak....ah well, I knew that owning an LR is a an emotional commitment having had a classic RR several years ago

On my previous Disco2 Td5 with cat & middle silencer removed I got 10-11l/100km, mostly commuting 50km to work.

It did run more smoothly when fed some 2-stroke oil though

After consistently getting consumption figures in the range 10.8-11.8L/100km, my last fill up came in at 10.37L/100km.

Unfortunately I've made two changes that could effect the consumption so I can't easily pin down the cause.

First, I've replaced the Latitude Tour HP's that were on the car when I bought it with a set of Latitude Cross. I was expect a small decrease in economy based on various reports.

Second I've switched from Shell diesel to BP.

d2 fuel usage fully kitted out

    2002 disco 2 16L per 100 flat range. fitted
    -bfg mud tyres
    -40L engle runs full time
    -arb winch bar & winch
-kaymar rear bar with jerry can always full ( aprox 150kg)
    -roof rack
    -use of air liberaly
    ( manual transmission)

the best i have ever had was 10L before i put all the gear on it. but now it just sits on 16l at 50 psi on and off highway. mind you i find the econ is better at 80 than 110 on the high way.

will report back after bash plates & rock slides.

    8.8 km/l = 11.36 L/100km
    9.7 km/l = 10.31 L/100km
