Loud CRACK when cross axle D2 suspension
Just got back from a week of wind & rain camping on Flinders Beach on Stradbroke Island. Managed a bit off the road however including some moderate axle twisting stuff around the Keyhole Lakes.
While the D2 performed faultlessly as usual, the occasional VERY LOUD CRACK that eminated from the back end when lifitng a back wheel or cross axleing was un-nerving to say the least.
We are at 260 thou KM so probably in need of attention somewhere, just where? Any ideas or similar experiences? I do have a new set of poly bushes from Brit Parts in the UK to fit but I am wondering whether these are worth the effort.

Check your body to chassis mounts.
I have read about front mounts cracking on some early D2's

Could not be from the rear.
Front springs may rub/catch on the chassis when at full compression.
Spring unseated and reseats?

Probably just the back of the spring coming off the lower spring perch when articulating.
Cheers
