Just as you said!
Another tweak is to use what we call "roo shooter" globes or horizontal filament GL6 globes. The vertical filaments don't make full use of the reflector only emitting a radius of 180 degrees into it. The horizontal filament reflects a full 360 degrees emitting far more light back to the reflector.
With either globe another trick is to not push them all the way into the socket. Pull them back out by about the thickness of a fingernail.

For maximum strength don't rotate the housing..

Fit the LF spread or combo lenses.

No probs! You do know there's a genuine Lightforce HID retrofit kit for them too

Don't suppose either of you guys know which feed wire is positive and which one is negative as the lights came without instructions and both are red (helpfully!!)

Cant you just use the filters?

You can buy a single 'spread' filter and use that to replace one of your spot filters.

No fiddling around

Doesnt matter which is which, it's a globe filament so not polarity specific. Just put one to power and one to a good solid earth close by.
