    D2 shockers

    G'day all,
looking for recommendations on replacing shock absorbers on 2003 Discovery 2, 7 seater with factory airbag suspension. With or without a ride height increase. Cheers.

    Bilsteins

There are threads about buying local vs overseas, but for my money, Bilsteins are the only shock absorbers to get. I had some on my RR for the 9 years I had the vehicle, and they were still good when I sold the car. I don't believe that they were new when I got them, so they had done a lot of kms.....

I put bilsteins on my 04 TD5 D2a last week, good, the OEM were completly done.
good quality finish (was going Old Man Emu till I saw the finish quality) and also heard from others on this forum that OME are really stiff.

easy to fit, come with bushes in place

Mate, dont worry about finish... Billies look rubbish after a 100km of gravel

I however, do love the 7100s

Have put on Bilsteins from eShocks (US) on my 2002 D2 with SLS. BE5-6046-H1 (front), BE5-6047-H2 (rear) and steering damper BE3-A580-H0 (yet to fit!)
Landed here was < $600 when dollar was 0.97c.
Pleased with the feel, gas pre-load has lifted front by 1-2cm - need to match it by resetting the ride sensors on rear.

    Cheers,
    Steve

unbelievable ride difference from the standard bilstein shocks

alittle bit of mucking around with fitting but its well worth it

I have OME Nitrocharger Sport & really like them. They are firm but I don't mind that.

Bilsteins get my vote as well.

I have the extended versions that are only available in Australia and they work great with my springs and ACE.

Next set will be Bilstein 7100 12" Short Body Shocks (360/80 valving).
