Hi Chris, no offense taken at all. If you refer back to the original post you'll see this part

Do I need to have a Whiskey before I start?

For parts i was going to get a filter kit off ebay.
    Injector harness (OEM) $50
Injector seals and washers (OEM) $50
    Rocker cover gasket $50
Transfer case sump gasket ? RTV ??? Seals ?
So he was asking specifically for prices and we responded accordingly...

You're correct, this forum is not a free-for-all, we pay for the ability to post about our business and reach out to potential clients.

    Thanks

Thanks Sarah. I can clearly see that from your post you're a vendor. The post by Mr LSD could have been from anyone and looked to be a relatively new member. Just remaining vigilant is all!

No worries, we're in the process of upgrading the second account to Vendor status Until it's fully processed we can't add the business signature. Keep on him though, I always have to keep an eye on his antics, I could use the help

    Thanks everyone.

Thanks black knight for the offer, I might do it at home but expect a pm or two! - is seating the injector seals correctly difficult?

Thanks sully that transfer box info is gold.
I checked the oil level just after last service (when dead cold) and when dead cold since then. It has gone up. That is the reason for replacing the injector seals as from what I've read on this forum that is most likely the cause and it should be fixed so the engine dOesnt self destruct. Am I wrong about this???

As for injector harness- I've found oil at the ecu plug and my thermo fan keeps running I think because of it. I figure while the rocker cover is off I would replace it with a sealed one and fix hopefully for a long time.

That all makes sense... The increase in oil level has to be coming from somewhere, so petrol entering into the oil mix is a probable cause.

As promised, here's those links to the transfer case instructionals:

(this one may not be relevant as you're not replacing the transfer case, but has some good processes in the breakdown.

    Thanks again sully,

    How about oils?
Are the oils in the owners handbook the one to use or are there better ones?

Also was reading the Haynes manual and it said you need a special tool for removing the injectors and that you also need a special assembly sleeve to install the new injector washers and o-rings. Is this right?

The tutorial in "the good oil" didnt mention that at all.

    Thanks

10W 40 oil should see you right for the engine. There's a thread on here somewhere about the best oils to use, including transfer box oils. Try the good oil thread. Here's a start: http://www.aulro.com/afvb/good-oil/7...g-rick130.html

I'm not sure about the special tool.... I'm sure someone else will be though!

So it just keeps getting better... Was under the car this morning having a better look at the transfer case leak and found a deisel leak at the rear drivers side of the engine.
So now I've got to fix the fuel pressure reg as well.
At least I think I'm over half way through all the stuff that usually goes wrong!!!

Sorry Matty for the hijack but just a question if I may please. My thermo runs all the time so does this mean I posibly have issues with the injector harness/ECU plug?
