I'm no expert so I cannot say with any authority. I have read on another post ( which I cannot recall) that someone else thought their thermo fan was running due to oil in ecu plug. You don't have to be an expert to check for oil in the harness/ ecu plug.

Just disconnect the negative battery terminal. And unplug the red plug from the Ecu located next to the jack in the same plastic box as the battery in the engine bay. If there is oil in the red plug than you have oil in the harness and it's probably only a matter or time till a fault shows.

I'm not sure about the special tool.... I'm sure someone else will be though!
10w/40 is not right for a TD5 you need 5W/40. Penrite HPR 5 Diesel is popular amongst many TD5 owners, its about $80 to $90 for 10litres and usually readily available from Supercheap Repco etc. There are quite few other brands out there offering this weight oil now so it will come down to personal choice. Just dont buy cheapo stuff.
Good advice from Rick130 in the link.

The injectors don't need a special tool. You can use an Allen Key or similar shape tool. Don't lever under the solenoid. You will have to rotate the camshaft eventually to get them all out. If the cam is out( head coming off) the job is easier.

    Cheers
